Meet Ria Oberholzer

Qualifications:
BSc Physiotherapy, MSc Sports Medicine (UP)
With over 23 years of experience, Ria Oberholzer is a trusted Centurion physiotherapist known for her compassionate approach and deep expertise. She graduated as a physiotherapist in 2001 and earned her master’s degree in Sports Medicine in 2004 from the University of Pretoria. While her early career saw her working extensively with school sports teams, Ria’s focus has shifted to the intricate field of chronic pain management. She is pursuing advanced qualifications in this specialised area to serve her patients better.
Ria’s philosophy is rooted in a simple yet powerful mantra: treat, prevent, educate. Her treatments go beyond addressing immediate pain. She prioritises rehabilitation to prevent future issues and empowers her patients with the knowledge to take control of their recovery.
Her practice is proud to be part of the Workability Network, delivering value-based care for chronic neck and back pain for select medical aids. Additionally, as part of the Resilient Health Network, Ria and her team provide dedicated services for GEMS patients.
When she’s not helping her patients, Ria enjoys running, boot camp sessions with friends, and outdoor adventures. At home, she juggles life with her husband, three daughters, three dogs, and two cats. She also loves escaping into fantasy novels late into the night.
